STONE TRAVEL GUIDES

Morocco

Color. Culture. Wonder.

The World is
WaitingFor You

Ancient medinas, sweeping desert landscapes, vibrant souks, and unforgettable flavors - Morocco is a destination that awakens every sense.

WELCOME TO MOROCCO

A Place Unlike

Anywhere Else.

Morocco is a place of contrasts - ancient and modern, energetic and peaceful, rugged and refined. Wander through the maze-like streets of Marrakech, share mint tea beneath intricately-tiled archways, cross the dramatic Atlas Mountains, and watch the sun disappear behind the dunes of the Sahara.

What makes Morocco unforgettable isn't simply what you see.  It's the sounds, flavors, traditions, conversations, and unexpected moments you encounter along the way.

GOOD TO KNOW

A Few Things Before You Go.

What should I wear?

+

+

Lightweight, comfortable clothing works well throughout Morocco. Modest clothing is appreciated, particularly when visiting religious or traditional areas. Bring layers, as temperatures can vary considerably between cities, mountains, and the desert.

Do I need cash?

Yes. Credit cards are accepted at many hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, but cash is still useful for souks, smaller businesses, tips, and local purchases.

Is bargaining expected?

+

Bargaining is common in many Moroccan souks and markets. Keep it friendly, enjoy the interaction, and don't feel obligated to purchase if you can't agree on a price.

What should I pack?

+

Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, lightweight layers, a scarf or wrap, a portable charger, sunglasses, and a secure crossbody or day bag are especially useful.

Can I drink the tap water?

+

Many travelers choose bottled or appropriately filtered water while visiting Morocco. It's also a good idea to use bottled or filtered water if you're sensitive to changes in local water.

Entry requirements

+

Passport, visa, and entry requirements can change. Check current official requirements for your nationality before departure and make sure your passport meets the required validity period.

TASTE OF MOROCCO

Come Hungry.

Food is one of the best ways to experience Morocco.  Meals are fragrant with spices, herbs, preserved lemon, olives, dried fruit, and slow-cooked meats. And sharing them is as much about connection as cuisine.
